The Street Kitchen (Sadly it is now closed) We loved this restaurant and have visited it many time over the years, so to us it is sad that the owner finally closed it due to the covid-19 issue. On our last visit we had salmon and monk fish respectively both were lipsmacklingly brilliant.

Edf. Vilamarina, Loja 4, Marina Vilamoura It has great views over the harbour and marina of Vilamoura, the food features Nordic and French cuisine as well as Portuguese and international dishes. You must visit here and at the very least have there skagen on toast.

Monchique in north-western Algarve

This is a little back street Resturant in the heart of Faro, with a few tables in the small street as well as inside. Specialising in seafood, mainly Portuguese and Mediterranean. One meal we had, started with a duo of perfectly cooked cheese soufflés, the main was a large pot of moules marinières, then the deserts were beautiful crème brûlées finishing with very strong dark and rich expressos.

This is quite a pleasant restaurant, but be warned the parking is extremely limited. The atmosphere is busy which makes it a little noisy. It is open a for both lunch and dinner, but we have only visited it in the evening. This is a really great Indian restaurant that caters for both seated and take a way dinners. The food is absolutely delicious and the abeyance relaxing. This old inn is situated next to the Fontwell horse racing ground, so can get extremely busy during the racing season. The food and service are of the highest quality, we have even had a new years eve dinner there which was due to the above very relaxed and enjoyable. The staff are really pleasant and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious real home cooked food, we have eaten both inside and in the large garden area. The owner is the head chief, so this really is a great place to have traditionally home cooked food, with a very good selection of wines and ales. The portions are split into two, one is small and one normal, but I personally think it is only the plate size that differs, as the meals themselves are both extremely generous. You can also choose between two or three courses. Also I would recommend that you book so as not to be disappointed, as this pub is extremely popular every night of the week because of its great reputation.
