Vilamoura

At the Museu Cerra da Vila, you can see it was once an ancient settlement by the extremely well preserved Moorish and Roman foundations that show roman mosaics, baths and fish salting tanks.

But the Vilamoura of today is one of the many purpose built resorts in the Algarve and was created in the 1970’s, the centre of which is its large marina, that is home to a plethora of beautiful yachts and power boats, as well a one extremely old tall ship. The marina is of a square design that is surrounded by approximately 100 restaurants, shops, bars stalls. If you walk to the northwest corner, you can book water excursions, dolphin watches, parascending, etc from the many different cabins that are located there.
